Another sunny day at Squaw Valley and although we are all thinking snow it’s hard not to appreciate the great weather we have been getting over the pass two weeks. The groomers are still skiing great and with all the sun the snow pack is getting thinner and thinner. If you are looking to avoid people who are on the hill, head over to Solitude where there is NO ONE skiing. If you are looking of thrills try straight lining it down Siberia Express. If you jump the rocks up top and hold a straight line the whole way you can easily get going 50 to 60 mph. If you are thinking about pulling this stunt make sure you know what your doing and have your gear dialed in, a binding release at these speeds is going to put you in a bad place. Another area to head for is Red Dog face. It’s a fairly long lift ride for a short pitch but by midday its all sunny and smooth.
Afternoon update: Sun Bowl is sweet right now. Give in a couple of hours baking in the sun and it becomes nice and soft. When you exit Sun Bowl head down 100 yards or so to you get to the Adrenalin Rock area where the snow has stayed nice.

Chute 75 has stayed fairly soft. I lapped it over and over today. The top is pretty cut up, but once you get into the middle the snow has funnled into the middle making for a soft ride. Its HOT midday.
