This is what we have all been waiting for. As you can see on this weather image, systems are forming over the Pacific and rolling in one after another. So with any luck we could see a number of strong storm systems pound the Tahoe area over the next week.

ANOTHER STORM SYSTEM WILL APPROACH THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST ON SATURDAY. WARM AND MOIST FLOW AHEAD OF THIS SYSTEM WILL MOVE INTO THE AREA BY SATURDAY EVENING AND CONTINUE THROUGH SUNDAY. SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL AND STRONG WINDS ARE POSSIBLE…WHICH MAY IMPEDE TRAVEL IN THE SIERRA THROUGH SUNDAY.

BY TUESDAY NIGHT SIGNIFICANT LIGHT DENSITY SNOWFALL IS POSSIBLE IN THE HIGH SIERRA WITH LIGHTER AMOUNTS DOWN TO VALLEY FLOORS IN CALIFORNIA AND WESTERN NEVADA. BREEZY CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE DURING THE STORM CAUSING BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WITH PERIODS OF WHITE OUT CONDITIONS OVER MOUNTAIN PASSES.
