Any regular viewers of our website and avid SCOOP fans know what a big supporter of Digg.com and Diggnation we are. An inspiration for our site and the best place to find you “real” news. Well today they had a bad day. After receiving a nasty gram from the hollywood types they removed a user submitted comment containing the password to decrypt HD-DVD’s.
What does this have to do with skiing or Squaw Valley? As the Unofficial site for squaw valley we hope to work with the resort to bring interest to our corner of the world and provide good content to local skiers. Digg has certainly done this with numerous stories on the amazing features of the HD-DVD. Being in this spot along with allowing users to comment and post stories virtually uncensored makes small business owners like us always watching the mail for a letter from a friendly law firm. The bottom line - we are here for the Squaw Valley community of skiers and will have your back through bloody bikini pictures and closing date rumors. Hopefully if the day every comes you’ll pull together to help show the official folks what’s right just as the diggnation community proudly did today.
Anyway enough talk and time for the unofficial fun. To support our friends at digg we created these t-shirts & stickers in our logo shop. They spell out “The day digg died, RIP our friends” in HD-DVD protected code. Get them over at our logo shop while we figure out what free speech charity to send the proceeds to (maybe the EFF?).
