So What Is The Best Ski Magazine?

October 24th, 2007 · 3 Comments

1. The Skiing Journal - Although The Skiing Journal is new on the stands its content and fresh look makes it a stand out.
2. Powder – Powder is known for its great photos and short easy to digest stories. The lager sizes makes you feel you are getting more for your money and with photos like that why not go big?
3. Backcountry / Couloir – what was once two great magazens have now merged into a one mag that covers all the BC info you need from month to month
4. Skier – Although skier only comes out with 4 issues a year, they are 4 solid issues worth the wait.
5. Freeskier – Interviews with some of the top skiers in the game as well as some sweet photos and a solid yearly ski review make Freeskier a safe buy.
6. Skiing – Skiing is intended for softer core skiers but from time to time they pull out a funny story or bring your attention to some new piece of gear that has somehow slipped under your radar
7. First Tracks Online – There is something you lose when you cant sit down and hold a magazine in your hands and flip through the pages. That being said First Tracks Online brings the latest ski news to you day in day out and that’s pretty cool.
8. Ski – all but useless. May actually make you a worse skier by reading it.

    I wouldn’t say SKI is useless, it’s just got a completely different focus than Powder or others. It’s a great guide for ski travel and such… I enjoy reading it and have seen no decline in my skiing ability (-;
