Skiing was fairly poor today. Strong winds closed down all the lifts except for Exhibition, Red Dog (closed at around 1:00) and Far East. But the big story is the storm that arrived around 2:00 p.m. this afternoon. By 6:00 p.m. their was already an inch of new snow on the valley floor and it is still snowing hard. NOAA is reporting that it could be snow as heavy as 6 inches an hour tomorrow! “Even a short walk outdoors could be deadly as you will become disoriented in the whiteout conditions.” NOAA: Blizzard Warning
It’s really up in the air whether Squaw will be able to get any lifts going tomorrow or even if anyone can make it to the hill. UnofficialSquaw will be keeping a close eye on this latest storm and will be bringing you as many updates as possible.
It’s time to hunker down or get out of town because something BIG is rolling in.
